2059: The superhero revolution (RP series Sign ups)

Updated Signups

Name/Alias:
Whatever his real name once was, he seems to have disowned it. He only goes by Project: Runa now.

Weapons/Abilities:

Project: Runa

His main body, which includes basic weapons such as a mask connected to his personal database(data gathered from Project: Keeneyen and info off the internet/public databases) and a GUI to show them to the user, the ability to shoot lasers out of his fingertips with the ability to shoot wider lasers from his palms, retractable wings built into his back for flight(The wings are more similar to those on the SHIELD Helicarrier of Marvel origin than they are the wings of a bird), and thrusters build into his feet for increased quick mobility both on the ground and in the air(Note: for actual use in play, on the ground these only have 8 short “Boosts” that can be used in between needing to prime it, priming taking one post. They can shoot him up to about 1 yard away each.)

Project: Excellerator

His ship/mobile lab. It is a small, incredibly mobile ship with little to no actual offensive capability. To make up for this, it’s quite fast and easy to move. It has a small lab/workshop in the back on a gyroscope so everything doesn’t go flying everywhere during evasive maneuvers. Can hold 1-3 people comfortably, up to four in a pinch. Name comes from “Accelerate” and “Excel” as in ‘to be exceptionally good.’

Project: Keeneyen

A device that attaches to his upper forearm and is fashioned after a mechanical-style wolf head. It has the ability to scan objects and organisms to determine structure, potential weakpoints, and other useful information of this sorts. Name comes from “Canine,” “Keen” as in be highly developed, and “Eye”

Project: Gardna

A device that attaches to the upper forearm with the ability to create a forcefield shield. Name comes from a corruption of “Guard.”

Project: X-Caliber

A device that attaches to his upper forearm that has the ability to extend out a horizontal blade. Not much to it other than to enhance hand-to-hand capabilities. Name comes from ancient sword “Excalibur,” X(Usually a way of showing high rank) and caliber, and in level of excellence.

Project: Judgement

A device that can replace his forearm, which is completely robotic after having been lost in a previous fight, fashioned after a lion head with wings on the side and primarily gold colored instead of the usual silver. While it takes time to prime the weapon(1 post), it also fires off a gigantic white laser of destruction which is about as large in diameter as Project: Runa is tall. It also takes time to cool down after use(50 posts)

Project: Knockout

A device fashioned from his mechanical right arm. It has the ability to extend short blades from between his knuckles(about 1.5 inches out)that can inject various substances into opponents through through small holes in the blades. The liquids are stored in small “shot” vials, and 3 can be stored within the project at a time. He has intense tranquilizers, acid against which the insides of the device and the shot vials are coated, and an antitoxin for paralyzing agents he had encountered.

Project: Sol

A device that can be stored on his hip, but is used by throwing. It shoots out many small bits from the main body that can stick into walls and ceilings, and can magnetize them back in after use. All these, including the main body, produce a harsh bright light, eliminating most shadows and darkness in an area. Produced to more easily combat shadow walkers, namely Sadie.

Project: Helix

A device that can replace his right forearm. it consists of two large barrels, each about 3/4 the width of his arm, set next to each other on a rotating platform, both about 1.5x the length of his forearm. One barrel(A metallic gold/red) shoots an incredibly hot substance, while the other(A metallic silver/blue) an incredibly cold one. They can spin on the turntable incredibly fast, the beams they shoot forming a double-helix shape if this is done. Created to combat robotic/metallic creatures on the basis of rapidly heating/cooling metal making it more brittle.

Project: Meteor

A large satellite, yet to be launched, made of three parts, α, β, and γ, being a large laser, destructive bombs, and protective drones, respectively. Note: This will never be used on other players, and is here solely for a specific plotpoint. If the GM wishes to confirm the plot point with me, he needs just PM me.

R-Mechanical Overdrive

Removes the limiting device placed on his power core(Made of Veriperium). Does damage to robotic systems after 25 posts that take place in the scenario he’s in, and damage to his person bits after 50, but doubles(or triples, not sure yet) his laser power, speed, strength, and other physical attributes

R-Mechanical Core Discharge

Channels massive amounts of energy to his power core and shoots a gigantic laser blast out of it. Makes him unable to shoot lasers or use his wings/boosters until he manually repairs them.

Note: both “R-Mechanical” moves are used as a last resort.

Fun fact: The “R” actually stands for “Reckless.”
Also, what do you guys think of the wordplay names for most of the Projects?

Gender: Male
Alignment: Rebel Moral/Hero
Affiliation: Nunciam Innovation Co.
Generation: Old Timers
Appearance: See bottom of post.
Bio:
Project: Runa doesn’t like revealing much of his past, it being a sore spot for him. From what’s been gathered, though, he, then going by a very different name, grew up with a very poor family life. His siblings were almost always awful to him, except those who had left. His mother would never stand up for him, and his father was borderline abusive. Not only this, but instead of fostering his love of technology and experimenting, his family was appalled and repulsed by it, threatening to throw him out on to the streets for what he’d been doing. However, he ran this risk, and was caught and, as his family had promised, thrown out of their house, and of their lives.
His life would continue on a somewhat sore path, though it did get better. He got odd jobs and lodging from sympathetic people he’d meet, and spend most of his money on buying things for his projects. Eventually he’d even start selling those, working on one project in particular: Project: Runa. His plan was to augment his body into that of something more than human, so as to take on the evil of the world. Once many of his different sympathizers learned of this, they cast him out as well. causing him to have to live on the streets and in abandoned buildings for a time. Eventually, he’d somehow complete his project, powering it with a material he found in a meteor crash, a material he dubbed ‘Veriperium’, and would disown whatever name he had been originally given, the last connection he had to his past other than his very appearance.
Runa would continue creating and selling other projects, usually not showing up in person and, if he did, being very careful not to show off his augmentations. Eventually he’d even start a small business, gain monetary help from friends, and buy himself a small(ish), semi-secluded house where he could work on his real passion and job: ‘taking care of’ those who deserved it most.
Eventually he’d hand the business to a friend, staying part but in a more ‘hands-off’ approach and start heroing full time in an area which seemed like it needed it most, this so called “City of Heroes.”
After those events upwards of 40 years ago, and some more hero work, he learned that his robotic enhancements also hindered him when he got older, causing him to take to heroing part time again, taking a more active, if behind the scenes, roll in his old company, the Nunciam Innovation Co.

Name: Catherine Gray

Alias: Project: Novus

Gender: Female.

Alignment: Civil Good/Hero

Affiliation: Nunciam Innovation Co.

Generation: Newbies

Powers/abilities:
Can shoot lasers out of her hands or fingertips, retractable wings, boosters in her boots that let her jump around quickly and help her fly. Her helmet has a UI in it that can help her gather and read information, can radio her tutor, and can send emergency alerts when it is in danger.

Project: Master-Moonedge

A device that attaches to her upper forearm that has the ability to extend out a horizontal blade. Not much to it other than to enhance hand-to-hand capabilities. Name comes from ancient sword “Masamune,” “Master” because of proficiency of use, and Moon because, to quote Catherine, “it makes it sound neat.”

Project: Boreas

An arm-cannon, capable of shooting either normal lasers out of the horn, or more powerful kinetic ice-beams when primed. Works the same way as Project: Judgement.

R-Mechanical Overdrive

Removes the limiting device placed on his power core(Made of Veriperium). Does damage to robotic systems after 25 posts that take place in the scenario she’s in, but multiplies his laser power, speed, strength, and other physical attributes by a factor of 2.5

R-Mechanical Core Discharge

Channels massive amounts of energy to his power core and shoots a gigantic laser blast out of it. Makes her unable to shoot lasers or use her wings/boosters until she has them manually repaired.

Appearance: Wears what seems to be a metallic chestpiece, inside of which is a green crystal covered by a metal grate, and has metal gauntlets that cover her whole forearms/hands and metal boots, all the metal being a silvery-black. Pretty much the rest of her body seems to be covered in a strong, dark blue metal/fabric hybrid, being strong but flexible. She also wears a nondescript helmet, being a smooth rounded shape of a shiny, glassy blue in front, going to a silvery-black near the back… Her face and head cannot be seen through it, but she can see through it herself. Seems to be about 18-19 in age. (See picture at bottom of post)

Personality/Bio: She’s very confident and very much is a go-getter, going out of her way to help anyone she can in any way she can, usually trying to take charge when she does.
About a year before the events of this RP, she encountered a battle between a masked hero and some unnamed villain. In the battle, even though the hero was holding his own, he had the battle locked at a stalemate. Catherine, always one to help, jumped in and tackled the villain. The villain quickly overpowered her and threw her aside, but she was enough of a distraction for the hero to beat the villain. In return for the help(and to make sure that if she did it again, she didn’t accidentally kill herself), the hero, who had been looking for an apprentice for a while now, brought her to his base, where he gave her the Project: Novus armor. He trained her in how to use it, and set her off to help save the nearby area, with some guidance.
She’s become slightly more solemn after the fight from a few months prior, but has also returned with a renewed drive to do her duty, no matter what.

Name: Malware
Other aliases: ——
Gender: Seems male
Abilities/weapons: The ability to infect other machinery and take it over, steal data from it, or make it self-destruct. The ability to teleport short distances by glitching out. Due to his nature, physical attacks can’t harm him. However, this also means he can’t physically harm non-mechanical or electronic things.
Generation: Timeless. Was there at the time of the Old Timers, but still looks and acts like a “Newbie” might.
Alignment: Chaotic Impure
Affiliation: Villain, but really just works for himself.
Appearance: Fairly average, if slim, human male build. Black hair, black long sleeve, black pants, black shoes. The whites of his eyes are black, as are the pupils, while the iris is a glowing light blue. Usually wears shades dark enough to hide his eyes. At first glance he looks sickly pale white, but his skin is actually a very light blue. Parts of his body ‘glitch out’ every so often. (See end of post)
Bio: No one knows where it came from, not even itself. It seems only semi-sentient, only to the point of completing its main directive: cause havoc. It seems to something along the lines of mutated code.

But the Celestials don’t use money?

Wait, so what’s going on with this now?

We’re launching the sequel tomorrow. If you want to make a character, you can do so now.

…so what’s all this about celestials?

They’re aliens

Read the RPs, normie! :gregf:

In all seriousness, they are @Jcton’s characters/lore, which is based around a race of highly intelligent, technologically advanced beings, who study various lifeforms and worlds. If you would recall, they were featured in majestic league 2 as well. Anyways, Jcton gave us permission to make our own celestial characters, so you could do that if you want.

Or I can just make a normal superhero?

Yes or you can make a normal superhero with superpowers.

I don’t know, you tell me.

That means yes. @jayzor17

What’s the tech level? Like, not the edge of what’s possible, like what Runa would be using; what’s the standard?

Well, i so far already have two players building potential doomsday devices, so i would have to say NO on anything like that.

Basically, the criteria is that as long as the tech doesn’t provide too unfair of an advantage, doesn’t wipe out entire groups of people at once, and doesn’t autohit/autododge, then it won’t be considered “OP”.

I’m not worried about OP. What sort of stuff might be standard among militaries right now? What level of communications devices are common in a household setting? Are we dealing with hovercars, hyper-speed trains, wireless eyeballs? I have no idea what a wireless eyeball is, but I’m suddenly curious.

Why don’t you have a character with superpowers? After all some guys like that would be greatly appreciated when the Invasion will start…

Again

Are you the GM?

But if you don’t wanna then you don’t I was just suggesting, that’s all.

Why not? I thought it’d be fun.

Again, dude, am I not allowed to suggest things?

I mean you can do whatever you want of a character, but I was just suggesting keep that in mind.

You suggest a lot of things, but I have other plans in mind.
