Oh ok, that makes sense

Okay, now I’m curious. Why would you rank The Fanfic Awakens this highly?

Because TFA is a great movie.

Since you’re a big comics fan, are you into any of the Star Wars comics, specifically the new cannon stuff, and if so what is your opinion of it? I have read a little of Vader and the plain Star Wars, and I really like Vader with its new characters.

The movie is pretty bad. The show is better the further along it gets.

Who is my favorite Animal? It’s generic, but it’s gotta be Eric Burdon. Like most bands around the era, Burdon was always the main event and it’s hard to compete with that kind of star power.

The movie is a return to form for the Star Wars franchise. There’s so many things that it does right that we the audience end up taking for granted. The cinematography is excellent, the callbacks are engaging, but the thing I like the most about it is that I immediately cared about the characters more than anyone in the prequels. Their relationships felt real, more real than the stilted “brotherhood” of Anakin and Obi-Wan, or the “relationship” of Padme and Anakin.

They’re definitely doing a longer play with the movies, and I’m sure that Episode VIII will be phenomenal and will do a lot of things to turn the franchise on its head. VII had to do so much for the fans and franchise in order to get it back on track, but now that everyone is on board, they can delve deeper into the characters without worry of viewers not backing it up.

Plus, I marathoned every Star Wars movie again before I saw VII, and some things just don’t hold up. Episode VI especially, which used to be my favorite, spends way too much time with the Ewoks. Seriously, I can’t believe I didn’t think the series jumped the shark with that one. If you haven’t seen it since you were a kid, it’s way worse than you remember.

I’m not into any of the Star Wars comics. I generally never enjoy licensed stuff because I feel like most of the restrictions end up tying them to their medium. Comics work best when they’re telling their own story and aren’t tied down by a bunch of regulations - and comics aren’t at the forefront of Lucasfilm’s minds when it comes to Star Wars canon right now, let me tell you.

I have seen that snippet of Vader when he confronts all of those Rebel soldiers and says that they’re all dead men - that’s amazing, but I would love to see that in movie form.

Triple Zero is a good character too, but it’s just - Star Wars is a movie franchise, and I want to see certain things in the movie. So if I see something cool in a comic, it bums me out that I won’t see it in a movie.

I guess our tastes our different because it’s still my favorite and I saw the OT before watching TFA as well.

Have you ever watched Arby 'n the Chief? If not have you seen anything by JonCJG?

Hey Jon! Could you give some advice and tips for starting a podcast? Specifically, What kind of equipment and programs are critical to produce exceptional content, and, what were some of the biggest challenges you’ve encountered as a podcast host?

I guess so. I think a lot of people’s opinions on the film will change when the trilogy is completed.

I have! Meso made me watch it in exchange for Firefly.

We used programs to record Stereo Mix or our Skype calls in the past. Var has a great guide to microphones if you want it. But the key to a good podcast is having good hosts that know how to play off of each other. Having a great personality and knowing how to carry a podcast is something that is half experience and half having great people working with you. Sometimes you just need time to work through it, sometimes you’ll need to realize that your group just won’t cut it. Knowing the difference will make or break your podcast.

I don’t listen to any of our episodes before Episode 90. So it might take a while.

Heh, that’s awesome. Thank you so much for the tips! I’d love to see Var’s guide if you wouldn’t mind…what would be the best way to check that out?

What did ya think of it? Also, Arby, or Ch!3f?

It should have ended when it ended. What it is now is just too…experimental and artsy, and not enough balance of humor and plot.

I’m an Arby fan.

I agree, the new season didn’t really catch my interest for the most part, but the ending of Triple Fault was the best twist in my opinion, bringing back the humor as it did.

How impressed are you with the Brickonicle entries thus far?

Are you a fan of Young Justice? I just finished it, and I love it.

Have you gotten any of the Star Wars constraction figures? If so, which ones, and are they any good?

Actually very impressed. I’m big on presentation, and a lot of people here have been killing it.

I’m a huge fan of Young Justice, have been since the day it came out. Seriously loving the fact that it’s back.

I got Rey, because Daisy Ridley is bae. She’s alright. General Grevious is the best, hands down. Obi-Wan was okay too. K-2SO is pretty great, but I haven’t actually bought him. All hearsay. Rule of thumb is that if it’s a robot, it’s definitely better than the humans.

As a followup, what characters do you think should be added for the new season? Personally I’d love to see Red Hood.

Jon have you seen the result of the old xbox1 fundraser? I’m trying to watch every TTV episode, and on 138 and 139 (I have yet to watch like 3-99 still through) I heard the story of the campaign, and so I clicked on the link and this came up; I love it.
