How Does One Say "BIONICLE"? (The Pronunciation Topic)

IDK, I’ve always pronounced it Lay-Wah.

Who even says it Ko-pack-ah. That’s a strange way of saying it.

But why? :stuck_out_tongue:

Again. But why? :stuck_out_tongue:

Again X2. But why? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve always pronounced it the same as Onua. Oh-new-ah.

Yee.

I see no difference. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yee.

I say it Cane-ra.

That’s the legit translation of it, like in Maori I think. Or Lay-vah.

Same video!

Seems to be a lot of BZP reviewers who do these things! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hail Denmark is why.

Fair enough, but you can’t really have two characters with the same pronunciation, so that’s why I go with Legends of Metru-Nui’s pronunciation of On-eh-wah.

Hm, maybe…Mat-er-an versus Mah-tor-an? Does that help?

As I used to, but TTV has changed me!

Bee-o-ni-cle.
Russian.

Before BIONICLE 2 came out, I always pronounced Turaga Dume’s name as “DOOM”. Then the movie taught me it was “DOOMAH” which sounded weird.

Wait…it’s pronounced “vay-zon”?

My entire life has been a lie.

I think lewa its pronounced Lee-Wah because in the newest (and canon G2 animations) he say Lee-Wah https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlepKIpFDtY

According to my dad:

Bee-on-i-clay

Lew, master of jungle

Tahoo-oo-oo-oo-oo

I dislike the way it’s pronounced as well, I would have much preferred “Vee-zon”.

Another one that I dislike is “Ig-nee-kuh” rather than “Ig-nike-uh”. The same goes for the Toa Inika.

I remember mispronouncing Nokama as " No-ko-mo" and Hau as Haw-oo when I was a little kid for some unknown reason. And I guarantee that the pronunciation is MOOR-buz-ik.

@Omni It’s Veh-Zon. I swear.

I personally think it’s Lee-Wa, primarily because of Ta= Tahu, Ga=Gali, Po=Pohatu, Onu=Onua, Ko=Kopaka, so
Le=Lewa

And another thing in response to @Kahi about the encyclopaedia pronouncation, I have the that exact “updated”) one and while it pronounces it as Ley-wah for one, it’s old (from 2007, and didn’t even finish the entire year of it) and it also showed Turaga Matau as “Turaga Inika Matau”

Yes someone made this a topic. Yay!

I say it’s as Ley-Wa. Gotta go with the official way to say it.

I usually pronounce it Lay-Wah.

I say ley-wa without the y at the end because that is dutch pronounciation

Ley-Wah

Don’t forget about Loo-Wah

Liwa, just like that, pronouncation in Spain is so different. So just Liwa

Ley-wa just doesn’t sound right IMO.
