Jacob continues to scrabble away, now trying to use evasive tactics to avoid it, while still running in the same general direction as where Khan went, in the hopes of catching up to him so he can help him not die. Or… y’know… Todd. That would be nice.
He seems to be running out of breath rather quickly.
Khan has stopped. Sand swirls around him, obscuring him except for a window that leaves his visor visible. He seems to be staring intently at Jacob’s predicament.
“I prefer stratagem.” Switchblade ground out from his maw, his eyes slowly opening and panning to glare quizzically at the individual he had only heard thus far. “Although you might have only learned insensate.”
Project: Runa would drop in front of him, facing the robot, and shoot three blasts at it. Hate this guy, but I’m still probably better off with him alive. He thinks to himself.
IC: The robot slams its arms into the ground, and leaps through the air. It comes down about a foot away from Jacob, its metal body smashing through the asphalt until it is half-buried.
“Stop-stop-int-intrud-er-stop” the machine barks out in a synthetic staccato. It rises, only for the three blasts to strike its shell. The robot sinks back into the asphalt…
…and slowly, painfully, rises out of it again. It stands on its feet now, the weapon on its side whirring loudly. it swivels to face Runa, a bolt of white light firing wildly. It arcs narrowly past his shoulder, as the weapon charges another shot.
Khan’s sand sweeps in, swirling in a curtain in front of the robot before descending upon it, looking for any gaps with which to access its inner workings.
IC: It looks as if a long time ago, the robot had a fully plated and protected armored body, which would have been nearly impossible to breach and damage.
But that time is not now. The chest region of the robot are torn violently, almost shredded to its metal “ribs”. If Khan were to get close enough to see, he would definitely be able to get in at its “heart” section.
As for Runa, his shots seem to have hit the still armored shoulders and upper body, which seem capable of taking punishment. The robot lashes out with a clawed hand, toward Khan.
The swirl of sand constricts, pushing back against the reaching appendage. Khan stands impassively, observing what he can of the robot through the sand. He directs more sand into the chest cavity, swirling it erratically in an attempt to disrupt whatever is making this thing tick.
IC: The sand sweeps into the robot’s chest, wearing away at its interior. There are a number of wires inside, coiled around a heart-like core of the machine.
It stands still, but a more prolonged attack should damage it enough to put it down.
The robot’s gun swivels, firing this time at Khan’s head.
IC: The robot’s spinning combined with Runa’s force, dislodges the blade and (most likely) sends Runa flying backward at an accelerated rate. The robot raises its shoulder cannon, and fires another blast at Khan.
Gridmaster decides the decision was in Skarpix’s hands and that there was no immediate danger. He flew off and hovered mid-air, scanning his surroundings and wondering what he might do, while he is here.
Kaleo sat up and leaned against a wall of the ship. He decided it would be best to wait for a full recovery, or till Runa returned.
Adam Stone (Cellulitis) researched more about the meteor that held the power he would need. If he was correct, Runa had the meteor chunk, but for now. It would be best to see if the hypothesis was correct. Maybe more of the material lays deep under the earth’s crust, near the mantel. The only issue with finding this Veriperium is finding a way to dig deep enough into the earth’s crust.
Runa lands and skids to a halt. He gets closer and extends the short blades in his right hand, in between his knuckles, and uppercuts the back of the machine, using his boosters to put more force behind it.
OOC: as a note, a boost from his boosters is enough to move his body 1-2 yards in less than a second, if that gives a feel for how much power that puts behind the strike.
IC: Todd conjures an anti-tank rifle, takes aim at a part that’s relatively unsloped, and fires at the armored robot. Hopefully the round will pierce its armor.
