Okotan Adventures: Spider Saga

They gave way after several strong hits and the door was now unlocked.

He reached for the doorknob, before pulling his arm back. Eyeing a large rock on the ground, he picked it up and chucked it at one of the Windows.

The window’s glass shatters and the rock clatters on the floor but there was no response of any kind.

The Wolf moved to climb in through the hole where the window had been.

The house was empty, nobody was in there aside from the intruder.

It was just as he had hoped it would be, he looked around to see what was in there.

There wasn’t anything out of the ordinary aside from the study’s supply of used medical equipment.

Vladin opened the door.

OOC:

He flew overhead momentarily as the group woke up. He hasn’t been hanging around all day.

IC:

The Lord of the Skies had barely touched down as some large bird flew directly over him. He glared halfway out of his eyes in frustration; couldn’t even take a nice walk through perfect living conditions without some obtrusive mammal interrupting his attempted holiday.

Regardless, it was a very short walk to the capital. Perhaps that bird could see it by now.

Athena headed her Gukko to the nearest Gukko platform.

The inside of the door looked like it had gone through a war, scraped, blasted and scorched like crazy; good thing the door was made of reinforced metal or it would probably have been torn to shreds.

The passageway that led down was definitely messed up 'scorch" marks of various elements streaked the walls like an abstract mural.

Icar was a bit nervous, this place felt like it was supposed to keep something in.

“Blaze, what is this?” Vladin whispered as he started going down.

It wouldn’t take long to find a work space and several cabinets made from the same material as the door, several Lightstones kept the place illuminated. The worst of the damage was in a very large room connected to it. All sorts of structures that seemed to be caught in time just as they exploded were visible, all made from the Elements.

A second room connected to the workshop had a smelting area where several channels with different Elements flowed from the vat into specific smaller pools that each had only one element within.

“These are mask making tools.” Icar said as he pried open a cabinet.

Vladin gave a quick look at every room p, partially to see what they contained, but mostly by the fear he would find something related to Rena.

There was no sign that Rena had any involvement in this place.

Eventually, he would open a cabinet to find a set of journals that held Blaze’s handwriting.

Icar was looking at the testing room and was piecing together why this place was underground, so isolated and (obviously) what its function was.

Vladin opened one of the journals.
OOC: I get some Gravity Falls vibes here.

It had notes on failed experiments on making masks with multiple elements. Blaze seemed to know just what he had gotten into, as he had the injuries to prove it, and how he wanted to exhaust all possibilities before giving up on finding a way to make these masks.

He had begun, and never really advanced from, mixing only two Elements per mask, each one having different proportions that the previous ones.

One passage read as follows:

“…Ekimu, if you are reading this, I am so sorry for breaking our most sacred law and pay the price for these actions with every test I conduct. I am alone in this, as it should be; nobody should have to suffer for my mistakes…”

Blaze’s experiments weren’t fruitless, he seemed to indeed be getting closer as his most recent experiments did cause less severe injuries to himself and the testing chamber but they still were pretty far from a reliable combo.

Icar stepped out of the testing chamber and walked up to Vladin, “Find anything?” He asked.

Vladin quickly turned and hid the hook to his back.
“No.”

“Really?” Icar asks, “This place looks like some sort of laboratory, those usually have some notes with or nearby them.”

“No.” Vladin said, shaking his head. “Hey, why don’t we come here tomorrow?”
