Salvation: Part II

Zeapr immediately tries to drive both greatswords into the Sentinel’s chest to skewer it.

The blades glance off the Sentinel’s shield as the drone recovers, brandishing its sword.

Zepar just lays into the Sentinal, seeming to be dead set on turning it into a pile of broken parts.

The Sentinel’s shield overloads from the assault, until it vanishes in a sudden explosion.

Zepar stumbles back and tries to see where the Sentinel was.

The Sentinel, undamaged by the explosion, lunges at Zepar, bringing its weapon down toward the Angelicon’s neck.

Zepar’s blades rise up in an X shape and try to catch the Sentinel’s weapon.

The swords hiss as the Sentinel’s blade scrapes down the edges of Zepar’s, emitting twin bursts of sparks. The Sentinel steps back, withdrawing its sword to prepare another strike.

Zepar charges in, bringing his shield to a position to redirect the attack to one side.

OOC: he’s trying to set up for a shank strike.

The Sentinel steps to the side, allowing Zepar to barrel past it before striking at his flank.

Zepar is struck, being knocked a few paces away fro the Sentinel.

The Sentinel runs at Zepar, holding its sword at its shoulder.

Zepar growls and moves to continue the combat.

Epsilon seems confused and curious at the same time.

“Along violent wars, zombie attacks, necromancy, and whole host of other exasperating events.” GC agreed.

The two combatants lock blades, the Sentinel staring at Zepar with a blank expression.

“So let’s see what’s in store for us this time,” Topside quips. To Sprocket, he says:

“I assume you know where the front door on this thing is?”

Sprocket nods his head enthusiastically; as impossible as the situation was, the chance to explore a functional colony ship was one he couldn’t resist, in spite of himself. He points up to one of the spokes of the craft’s ring, which passed through and out the other end of the gunmetal band.

“The main entrance is at the end of that rotor,” he informs our heroes.

Zepar smiles as his CLUTCH drone took up position and fired at the Sentinel’s back from a high altitude.

Shadowraker was circling the battlefield, looking for a safe opening for an attack run.

Epsilon nods, “Well, let’s just hope it doesn’t involve stuff trying to kill us.” He said.

The shots from the drone’s minigun pelt the Sentinel’s back, but elicit no reaction from the machine as it lurches forward, trying to push Zepar back.

The Faxu-Hyperborea was inert on the ground, while the Faux-Atlantis was fighting the Splitter brothers.

Topside nods.

“Amen to that,” he agrees.

Zepar spins to the side, using the momentum given by the Sentinel pushing him, aiming to bash the automaton’s head with the end of his dragontail.

The drone breaks off its attack on the Sentinel to attack Faux-Atlantis from above with its automatic guns.

Shadowraker uses a moment where the drone was reloading to make an attack run on the giant construct.

Epsilon seems to smile at that.

“Knowing the ancients, I guarantee you that something will try to kill us. It seems to be an architectural requirement.”

The Sentinel is struck and staggers to the side.

The Faux-Atlantis rises to its feet as the bullets and hard light bolts pepper its armor, grabbing his sword while Blue Cybermatter fills the hole in its head. The giant swings his sword in a wide arc to try and slice the drone and the bird.

“Kinda, actually,” Sprocket says, not picking up on the sarcasm. “The Knights of Cybertron installed defensive mechanisms in everything. Even these colony ships have a couple of those sentinel drones in them.”
