This does it for me.
7 Years by Lukas Graham. The Moon Song by Gregory Alan Isakov. Any of the planet songs by Sleeping at Last.
Now I have a much more honest one.
I just start crying when I hear this because its lyrics are so much like how I feel when I’m really sad.
Oh, here’s one I forgot the first time
This is Song For Elias, by the Cat Empire
It’s rare among Cat Empire tracks in that it has a female vocalist. and a prominent one at that
Though I can’t get piece together the specifics
it’s about a pair of lovers who never ended up meeting under the circumstances they’d wished
The implication is that one of them has passed away,
Based on the lyrics, I assume it’s the guy who has left the girl to weep for his loss
Regardless, it really is rather moving.
I forgot some.
“One” by U2
“Fire and Rain” by James Taylor
Weeb I may be for this one
The violin is just so effective, and things only get more grim when those drums kick in.
It’s like the extra depressing trudge, made after a fatal blow
like, you know it’s futile, whatever you’re trying to do.
but you just
you just gotta keep going.
I have one
I’m a sucker for the combination of piano and female vocals
And this song gets me whenever I’m cooking with onions
How could you leave us by nf. I’ve never cried at music, but that one almost got me.
Gangsta Glam by Prince.
How can someone I love so much write such crap like this? Are you sure this is the same guy who wrote When Doves Cry?
there’s plenty more because I’m a big kitchen sponge in formal attire but this’ll have to do for now
