Why not? If people feel comfortable sharing, they’ll share. If not, they won’t. No one’s trying to get you to share your name if you don’t want to. If they do, give them a righteous “no u”.

Idk, it seems kinda obvious not to give out personal information to random people on the internet. That and the fact that some people aren’t mature enough to judge for themselves how much to share/not.

There’s not much someone can do with a single first name
Most names have several, if not millions, of other people who use it.
If it was first and last name, yeah that’d be a bit more concerning.

You’re right, this topic probably shouldn’t exist. That said, it was started in '17 and it hasn’t been closed in the 4 years since then, so I’m not about to do it now.
As long as people are respectful and no one is trying to get or give more than a first name in this topic, I don’t care. Don’t want to share personal information? Don’t.
