Arcana: the downfall

“Should we go help?” Saras asks.

The figures started to fall. First one, then two others, leaving only 3 left, one being the lone warrior.

Tortwig watched the battle. “I think we’re good. See?” She points at the three felled enemies.
Frostvin crosses his arms. “I hope they know that they’re in the way.” He walks towards the battle.

Saras follows.

The last two fall, even though they were never touched by the blade of the sword. The remaining man turns towards the approaching travelers.

Only then does Saras see the armor the man wears: A set exactly like his, the Mark of Azarana clearly visible on his shield. His eyes widen as he draws his sword and shield. “We need to go.” He says.

Tortwig, sensing the panic, nodded. She pulls out the glaive slung on her back and grips it. “Frosty! Get back here!”
Frostvin ignored her and continued to walk towards the man, his staff growing ice

Duo beeps, concerned as Quadro says, “statement: The etherite is an idiot.”

The figure keeps closing in on him, a line in the air above the tip of his blade starting to glisten.

Frostvin formed several large icicles, which floated in the air. “You’re in our way. Please get out of it.”

Tortwig said to Quadro, “Nolite Eum!”
The short robot ran after Frostvin and tried to trip him, to no avail. The robot shouted back, “statement: failure.”

The man grimaced as he approached, close enough for the others to see his armor, along with the line of blood floating above and around his blade. “And you in mind. Leave the old man and none of you get hurt.”

Saras’ eyes were filled with rage and fear, putting away his sword and drawing the Hook of Azarana.

“Yeah right.” Frostvin fired the icicles at the man, forming several new ones as the old ones left. “He stays with us.”

Tortwig sighed. “Haec bona non convertam manum.”
She twirled her glaive. “Hope you’re ready to fight.” She told Saras and Edward.

Saras doesn’t answer, just creating the chain on the Hook.

The man flicks his sword towards him, and the trail of blood follows, whipping through and hitting the icicles, making sure the only ones that hit were the ones that wouldn’t hurt him, just nick his armor. “Very well. Then I’ll see you in hell.” He says, rushing at Frostvin.

“Ha! You’ll have to kill me first.” Frostvin dodged and fired the rest of the icicles. He created a wall of thick ice and began to create a coat of ice over his body.

He ducks under the ice spikes, rolls up, and starts heading around the wall.

Frostvin walked the other way, keeping the wall between the two. He laughed coldly.

He’d see that the man was going around him, heading towards the others in the group.

Saras readied his shield to defend, when he saw the face of the man underneath the helmet. He took a step back in shock.

“Crap.” Frostvin sighed. He charged after the man, trying to tackle him.
Quadro began to fire pellets of electrified metal, the small round balls flashing in the air.
Tortwig grinned. “That’s the ticket.” She stepped in front of the cart and cow and stood her glaive in front of her, taking a defensive stance.

The man would dodge to the side, getting out from between Frostvin and the electrified metal bits, and would swing at Saras.

Saras would block with his shield, still to startled to attack.

Tortwig twirled her glaive and tried to slash with both ends, attempting to separate Saras and the enemy.

He’d back off, and then slash at Tortwig, the blood whipping towards her face like a sharp wire.

Tortwig dodged and swung the glaive at his legs, then sweeping upwards, and finishing with a kick.

He’d jump back out of range of the glaive, then come in and try to hook her kicked out leg with his arm, then kick out her other leg and make her fall on her back.

Tortwig fell and rolled back, springing back up. “Cats always land on their feet!” She said. “Duo! Quadro! Nunc!” She called. Duo flew down and tried to grab the sword, while Quadro began firing more pellets.
